BEAR HANDS- Lo-Fi PUNK?

Für die Pavement und Sebadoh´s Fans (wie ich) empfehle ich eine neue Band aus New york, Bear Hands. Die klingen je nach Lieder manchmal Indie, manchmal Post Punk, manchmal Lo-Fi, oder Alternativ der 90er. Sie sorgen für eine melodische, klagende Rockmusik und poetischen Lyrics . Das Song "Golden" besteht aus schwere Basslinien und stechende gitarren.

Bear Hands‘ Golden EP has been floating around the Brooklyn-indie scene for over a year now, so you might have already heard their unique brand of post-punk fuzz rock by now. If you haven’t, you’re missing out. The Golden EP is a bold and expansive sonic statement that looks set to solidify Bear Hands‘ position as one of the most important acts of 2009 and beyond.

1. Of all the bands/artists in your CD/record collection, which one is your most cherished?

tough one…too many to decide. im sure pink floyd, the smiths and dinosaur jr. would be somewhere on there.

again..tough question. radiohead/stephen malkus in 03 was great, and sunny day real estate/no knife in 2000 was amazing as well.

our whole UK tour w/ Hockey and Passion Pit

7. What musician would you like to hang out/work with for a day?

david bowie

8. What four albums you would bring to a deserted island?

jesus man…too many to list.

1984 by George Orwell, currently reading The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand.

12. Do you prefer live performances or recording in the studio?

i like both, but playing live is more immediately gratifying.

getting tackled off the stage by dylan, our singer, was a pretty good one.

Datamoshing´s Videos

Datamoshing ist eine Videoschnitt Technik oft vewendet in der Kunst Branche. Diese Technik wird im Chairlift´s Video und im neuesten Kanye West-Video genutzt. Diese beide Videos sind unabhänging von einander gedreht worden.

Datamoshing schaut wie ein Übertragungsfehler aus und wird oft bezeichnet als Ästhetische oder Kompriemierungsfehler oder Kompriemierungsglitch. Ich habe mich auf Wikpedia schlau gemacht über Glitch :

„Als Glitch wird in der Fernseh-und Videotechnik eine kurzzeitige Falschausgabe von Bild- oder Toninhalten bezeichnet, ähnlich den Glitches in der Elektronik.

Diese Fehler treten häufig beim Spulen innerhalb eines Filmes bzw. beim Wiedereinsetzen des Filmes nach einem Spulvorgang auf, wenn die benötigten Daten nicht schnell genug zwischengespeichert und wiedergegeben werden können.

Im Bild wirkt sich das durch vermehrte Artefaktbildung („Schatten von Kanten“, Doppelbilder) oder gar andersfarbige Klötzchenbildung aus. Beim Ton kann es zu störenden Verzerrungen der Frequenz oder zu Nebengeräuschen kommen.“
